Moon + Leaf exists to create a culture in which we love, honor, and listen to our bodies by working with our moon cycle – a time of physical, emotional, and spiritual transmutation. In honoring the power of our cycles, we are connected to the divine cycle of life and the rhythms of nature within us. And we further get to honor the Earth (the element of October) by working with plants that have been used for centuries to support our bodies during our periods.
Shaina Kandel and Alexis Travis launched Moon + Leaf in 2018 in San Francisco, CA. Both having worked in the corporate world for 10+ years, knew the toll that burn-out took on their bodies. For Shaina, burn-out meant losing her moon cycle altogether. This changed her perception of periods from a dreaded experience to a body intelligence that gives insight into health and wellbeing. With no natural period relief solutions available, the concept for Moon + Leaf became crystal clear. She along with co-founder Alexis Travis, vowed to create a company that supports women in honoring, loving, and listening to their bodies.
