Humhum is a guided experience in connecting to oneself and others. Grounded in mindful awareness, and rooted in the shared intention to connect, at humhum we can check our self presentations at the door and offer our presence to others— first in silence, and then in conscious verbal communication. Just a bunch of humans— being themselves, together. This guided experience will take you on a journey of both introspection and connection, combining practices from tantric yoga, and mindfulness meditation to leave each person feeling energized, inspired, and connected. Humhum is short for human to human as we sit before and witness one another. Hum is also part of the sanskrit mantra So Hum. Loosely translated as So “I am,” Hum “that.” Humhum exists to offer an opportunity for each of us to recognize and appreciate the wholeness and completeness within ourselves and in one another.
Alexandra is a KRI certified Kundalini Yoga teacher, teaching weekly at RA MA Institute. She is also a Reiki Master Teacher and Facilitator trained in the Usui Method. She teaches and practices Reiki and Kundalini Yoga to activate each person’s inherent ability to heal and evolve from within. Alexandra has sat several silent retreats, some for as long as five weeks within the Theravada Buddhist tradition over the last six years, and maintains a committed daily meditation and yoga practice to live, work, and serve creatively, spaciously, and with integrity.When she’s not teaching yoga and facilitating humhum sessions Alexandra consults as a Strategic Designer and Product Manager for fortune 500s and start-ups.
*Please arrive about five minutes early as we will begin right on time. Dress in a way that makes you feel confident, comfortable, and open to connection. We'll be taking our shoes off, and sitting on the floor with cushions for the majority of the time.
