FIRE: 3-part Kundalini Yoga Ritual in Preparation for Winter.

Winter’s chill is slowly approaching the Northern Hemisphere. Days are growing shorter, the air thins, and some of our energy levels dwindle. Seasonal Affective Disorder is real! Join the Brujas of Brooklyn for “FIRE” a 3-part kundalini yoga series that will help to get our bodies and spirits prepared for the winter. We do so by channeling fire energy via Breath of Fire. Breath of Fire is a major feature of Pranayama (or the science of breath) in Kundalini Yoga; each ritual will build on the basics of this master breath. The rituals can be experienced on their own, yet participating in all three promises to be transformative. Opened to all levels.

11/21: Kundalini 202: Feeling stuck? This is the ritual for you. The second ritual of the Brujas of Brooklyn’s 3-part FIRE Series will build on the first one, but can be experienced on its own. We will take the Pranayama (sacred breath) from the first ritual to the next level. Working with the moon’s Virgo energy, this ritual will focus on learning the basics of Ego Eradicator, a major asana (or sacred posture) in Kundalini Yoga. Ego Eradicator, accompanied by Breath of Fire, helps to reduce stress and break through blockages that may keep us in a state of feeling “stuck.” By taming our egos, we are better prepared to receive intuitive guidance on how to prepare for Winter’s hibernation with ease and grace.

The Brujas of Brooklyn are Afro-Dominican identical twins, raised in Brooklyn, New York. They believe in the power of Spirit to cast spells that aid in collective healing. The Brujas of Brooklyn are healing generational traumas of gendered racism, which women of color often hold in our wombs, or Yonis. Their craft is therefore dedicated to womb-healing, or what they call Woke Womb Work. Their YONI workshops create safe spaces for women to release generations of pent us trauma. The work that they do is inspired by the 7th generation principle among indigenous peoples across the Americas: the healing that takes place today will help to heal 7 generations before us and 7 generations after us. This is their wish.

She earned a PhD in Urban Planning and Public Policy from Rutgers University. Dr. Miguelina Rodriguez thanks her Saturn's Return for shaping her life as a Yoni priestess. Womb Wellness is her life's work.
